Car Stereos: jvc, mono amplifier, rca output

Question
hi, i ve just bought a jvc avx810 car stereo and i noticed that it has only a single rca output for the subwoofer, i have a pioneer mono amplifier gm-7200m with two rca inputs, can i connect the amplifier to the head unit. thx very much

Answer
Joseph, that is a little strange that there is only one sub output, but you can make it work.  Your amp should be able to just use one of the RCA's.  Either it will be marked mono, or there will be a switch, or the one coming out of the radio is the same color that you use on the amp.  If this isn't the case, it may not work with a mono input.  You can always use the regular speaker preouts to go to your sub amp.  Your amp has all the circuitry to isolate the low frequencies for your sub.  You just won't be able to use your stereo's built in sub controls.  I am pretty sure you can use the sub output, but either way, it will work.  Hope this helps, Scott
