Car Stereos: amp size, charging system, rear seat

Question
I have a 90' cherokee that I am upgrading the sound system.  my idea is to run the tailgate speakers and a 8" sub of a amp and run the front speakers and the speaker bar off the deck.  What size amp do you suggest, I would like to install it under the backseat, unless you think the amp would get to hot under there.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Chad,
The short answer to this is buy as much power as your charging system will handle and your budget will allow.
It's always better to have more power than you need and use the gains to trim it down than it is to underpower the speakers.. they will eventually blow up when underpowered.
Using under the rear seat mounting will entirely depend on how big the amp is and how enclosed the area under your rear seat is.
I have installed amps back there before, but made sure they area was ventilate.. in addition I used an amp with a built in fan. Itworked well.
Good luck!
