Answer
Hi Gary,

There are a lot of things that can cause the problem you're describing, but the symbol on the display makes me think it's a setting in the CD player itself.

First of all, the sound may be muted.  There's an ATT button on the front of the head unit; try pressing that and see if the sound returns.  (Though I'm sure that's something you've already tried).

Another way the sound can be muted is through the tel-mute wire at the back of the head unit.  This should be a light blue wire.  Your deck has a light blue wire, a dark blue wire, and a dark blue wire with a white stripe.  The light blue wire should not be connected to anything at all, unless you have a hands-free phone kit installed.  If the wire is grounded, it will mute the audio from the deck.

Third, you may have a grounded or shorted speaker wire.  This will cause the deck's internal amplifier to shut down.  However, usually this causes a "Failure" message on the deck's display.

Finally, the Voyager may be equipped with a factory amplifier.  Chrysler minivans with Infinity audio systems use a factory amp, and it needs to be activated when you install a new head unit.  In a minivan made before 2002, this means you need to connect the blue/white wire at the back of the head unit to the solid blue wire in your Chrysler adapter harness.  Otherwise, the factory amp doesn't turn on, and you'll get no sound.  However, I doubt this is the problem with your system.  Usually the factory amp in the minivans only operates the front door speakers (if equipped); the other speakers will work without the amp activated.  Also, this wouldn't explain the speaker cutoff symbol on your faceplate.

Hope this helps!
