Car Stereos: Chevy s-10 radio, constant power, power source

Question
1996 Chevy S-10.  The clock will no longer shut off.  Even with the key off it always displays the time.  Have checked every fuse and relay possible.  Draining my battery!  Please help!

Answer
Hi Michelle,

This means that the power to the clock is connected to a constant instead of a switched power source.  Is the clock inside a stereo?  If so, it was installed incorrectly.

If the stereo loses your presets when you turn the truck off, then the issue is the constant and switched power being switched.  If your presets remain, then the constant power is hooked up to the deck's switched power; it's simply an issue of swapping them.
