Car Stereos: Radio station preset buttons, gm truck, preset buttons

GMC 2000 pickup truck.
Radio station preset buttons 1-6 back lites are burned out.
Can they be repaired/replaced and how?

Hi William,

The bulbs can be replaced, but it involves taking the unit apart, removing the old bulbs from the circuit board, and soldering new bulbs in place.

They can do the repair for you, if you'll ship the radio to them.  

You might find it quicker and easier to purchase a replacement radio from a local junkyard.  Any radio from a 95-2002 full-size GM truck or SUV (ie, Suburban) should fit your truck without a problem.
