Car Stereos: Wiring..., jeep grand cherokee, inline fuse

Question
I am putting a system in a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee and have the RCA wires ran, but i was wondering about the Remote Turn on wire and where the other end goes from the amp to.... Also the power wire and how to run that without drilling...

Answer
Brandon, I have a couple of suggestions for you.  You remote turn on wire can be any switched wire near your amp installation area.  A rear area power supply or electric window wire.  The easiest part is to locate a batch of rearward wires and test each wire for the switched power you are needing.  Then, just splice into that wire.  Or, if you are not comfortable with that, you can run a wire up along the same path as your RCA wires, then just splice into the radio turn-on wire.  You can wire the power wire to a constant power wire as mentioned above, but you are risking overloading a circuit.  I always recommend running an amp power wire directly to the battery, with an inline fuse about a foot from the battery.  Usually, this entails a small hole in the firewall for this wire and a grommet.  Hope this helps, Scott
