Car Stereos: Bass is alway on, rear speakers, incoming power

Question
I installed a high to low converter to my rear speakers so i can hook up an amp with the factory deck, now the bass is always on, it seems to go with the rev of the engine even when the volume is off, any fixes?

Answer
Hi Jaret,

I'm not entirely sure of what you mean by bass is always on.  You mean the subwoofer you added with this amp is whining with the engine?

If that's the case, you likely have ground looping caused by ground wire not being connected correctly.  It should be kept as short as possible, be at least as large a gauge as the incoming power wire, and be connected to unwelded, sanded, bare metal.

If I'm not getting the issue correctly, please resubmit your question with more information and I'll see if I can help.
