Car Stereos: Car stereo problems, delco model, cadilliac

I have a '92 Cadilliac Deville with a factory Delco AM/FM/cass. and built in amp. The AM/FM will not play, the cassette does have sound. The display jumps to and from AM to FM will not stay on FM but it doesn't matter cause the radio has no sound at all. This has been driving me crazy please help. Delco model# 16127076.

At first, it seemed that the problem could have been that your antenna was simply lose or shorted somewhere and causing the radio to not get any signal, but you mention that it jumps from FM to AM sometimes.  This would not be caused by a lose antenna.  Unfortunately, it sounds like one of your buttons (AM/FM button) is shorting inside the radio.  The radio can be repaired, but it will require removal and reinstallation, so your bill should be around $150 to $200 dollars to repair the radio.  Hope this helps, Scott
