Car Stereos: VW stock radio/6 disc changer, volkswagen cd changer, stock radio

Hi first I would like to personally thank you for taking the time to answer my question and help me out.
I have a 2000 VW 2.0 GLS. I was wondering if it was possable to replace my stock head unit with an after market and still be able to use the stock 6 disc cd changer that is in my trunk?

Hi Charley,

You can replace the stock head unit, but unfortunately I don't know of any way to keep the separate 6-disk changer working with an after-market head unit.  To my knowledge, there's no after-market head unit that's compatible with the Volkswagen CD changer plug and control codes, and I don't know of any available adapter interface for this application.  Sorry, but I'm afraid if you want to replace the factory head unit you'll have to give up the 6-disk changer.
