Car Stereos: car radio, infinity system, dodge caravan

I have a 1996 dodge caravan le that has a am/fm cassette player. The tuner
went out so I purchased a replacement from a salvage yard that has cassette
and cd player from the same year vehicle. I took it to an electronic shop and
they said that they were unable to get the door speaker to work and the amp
would not  kick in. They told us that it probably wasn't compatable. m
My door panels have infinity system on them but we are not sure if the
replacement radio is an infinty. Mine has a 5 band eq, the replacement has a
3 band eq. Could this be the problem?

Yea, it is possible since the vehicle likely came with two completely different systems.  One premium, one not, and they may very well not be compatible.

Your options are just to go aftermarket with a factory integration harness, or to bypass the amp entirely and wire the wrecker deck you got straight into the speakers with no amplifier.
