Answer
Luke,

Sorry for the delay.  I went out of town for thanksgiving, and I just got back in.

Apparently the red flashing light is trying to tell you something about your system.  Sometimes, the flashing light means there is some short in your wiring, and it is not turning on until the problem is fixed.  Make sure the power cable has no tight spots or wear points.  Make sure the ground wire is as large as the power wire, and it is grounded as close as possible to the amp.  Make sure the switched power wire is connected to a switched source in your car.  Then, make sure all other connections are tight.  Second, the blinking light could be telling you that the amplifier fuse has blown.  Pull the fuse and check with a multi-meter to make sure it is in good shape.  Some amps use the blinking light for different reasons, but those 2 are the most common.  If they do not fix the problem, you may need to remove the amp and take it in to a shop and have it diagnosed (about $50).  Hope this helps, Scott
