Car Stereos: Radio swap, ford f 150, single cd player

I have a 03 ford F-150 with a tape player. will a 04 Sport Trac single cd player work in my truck? I hooked it up but there is no sound.

Hi Scott,

There's a number of factors which will affect whether it will work or not.  As for straight plug and play, probably not, dependent on what kind of factory system each of the vehicles came with.

Your best bet is to probably splice the wires and join them together based on their function.  Alternatively, you can buy two harnesses one to go from your factory wires, and one to go to the Sport Trac's wiring.
