Car Stereos: sound installation, amp output, channel amp

Hey I would like to know how to connect my sub and amplifier to the cd player, do you perhaps have a diagram of some sort so that i could just check, I have 2000 watt 2 channel amp and 1200 watt sub, would just like to add them to my existing car stereo

Hi Hennie,

If the deck you have doesn't have preouts, you'll have to use high level inputs on your amp if it has them, or a high level to low level converter.

Then you'll hook up the RCA wires from the deck/converter to the amp, run a power wire from the battery (WITH fuses) to the amp, run the ground off of the amp to the chassis of the car (keep it as short as possible, and an amp turn on wire from the deck/converter to the remote in on the amp, and try to use a part of the body that is unpainted and not welded in place), then run the wires from the amp output to the speakers, and you're done.
