Car Stereos: how to run a monoblock amp and a dvc sub?, monoblock amp, voice coils

Question
hi there i was wondering i recently purchased a fusion 1500watt max monoblock amp and a fusion 15" DVC sub 1500watt max. the sub is rated at 500watts rms and the amp is rated at 500watts rms at 4ohms and 850watts rms at 2 ohms. i was wondering to wire up the sub at 4 ohms what would the wiring be? like would i bridge the amp(so connecting the + and -) to both of the voice coils or is there some other way to do it? because when i read the instructions it showed me how but when i connect it the amp threatens to go into protection and doesnt produce some bass notes. please help! thanks

Answer
Hi Zayne,

If the amp is rated to do 2ohm stable, and the sub has 2 coils that are 4ohm each, then connect the + on the amp to the + on both coils, and the - on the amp to the - on both coils.  That should be it.

If it's failing, you need to take it back to where you got it and tell them they're not working at spec.
