Car Stereos: car audio, inch subs, decent system

Okay i have a decent system in my car with everything but subs i have an amp that powers four of my speakers i also have two ten inch subs that i wanna hook up but i kno nuthing about it......if i am gowna hook up another amp is it gowna ruin my battery and if so how do i hook up y subs witout doin that?

Hi Gary,

The only way to find out if a battery will do anything to your system is to hook it up.  It won't ruin your battery, but it might draw too much power from the system, robbing other parts in the car from electricity.  Turn the car on in the dark after you put the new system in, and crank it.  When the bass hits, see if the lights in your car dim at all.  If they do, you're drawing too much energy.  A few options to take care of that include another battery, or a capacitor.
