Car Stereos: party speakers when parked?, rca outputs, headphone output

I want to buy some car speakers and put them in a mount in my trunk, for parties, but i need it to hook directly into my Ipod.  so when i driving down the street it is NOT playing through them.  but when im parked i need to have them get power from the car.  is that possible???

Yes it can be done but you are going to need an amplifier size will depend on how loud you want the sound, you are going to have the amp connected just like if it was integrated convencionally except you are not going to run the rca wires to your deck you are going to run them straight to your ipod using a "Y" adapter its got the regular Headphone output plug on one side and 2 or 3 rca outputs on the other end, connect the Rca Inputs to the amplifier and the headphone one on your ipod, turn the car key on and turn your radio volume all the way down, you will control the volume with your ipod.
this way the speakers on the trunk will not play even if you have your radio on as long as you disconnect the RCA wires from the amplifier every time the party its over.
