Auto Racing: 85 monte carlo ss, monte carlo ss, caramo

hi john,i recently purchased my 85 monte carlo ss.the rear end is non posi and i would like to change it to posi.now alot of people have told me to put a grand national rear put there pretty hard to find.are there any other options for a rear that i can use without to much modification? im just building a mild streetrod not a racer.i would appreciate any feed back.thanks

You 85 Monte Carlo sounds cool and I'm sure you will enjoy working on it. I have a 89 CARAMO RS that I use for my dialy drive and enjoy working on it (well...most of the time). Unfortunately I have no experience in the field of rear ends. Your best bet will be to find gear heads in your area that have some knowledge and might even want to turn a wrench with you.
