I race fwd class at concord motorsportpark,Its ahalf-mile tri-oval track with banking degrees between 11 an 14 deg. This class is all about handling, I was wondering about tires, should the tire be a harder or softer tire. Really having a hard time finding a good tire. thanks for your help.

Answer
Harder tires slide, softer tires grip- - - but if they're TOO soft, they lose big chunks of rubber. If handling is the key, you've got a lot more work than just the selection of tires.

For beginners , amateurs and others starting out in the lower classes, I recommend this book: "How To Make Your Car Handle" by Fred Puhn. Any book store can order it for you (about $16.00) and some of the larger ones keep a copy on hand.

After you've gotten that book and read it about 3 times through, write me again for the fine tuning. However, you probably won't need me by that time, the book really tells it all.

Good luck and win a few for me !!
