Auto Racing: 2003 monte Carlo, high flow cat, chip resistor

I have just put on the K&n filter and looking into doing the exhaust some one told me 3" is best?? and I also ordered the speed chip (resistor??) on ebay what other steps should I take to make my car go faster??

A 3 inch SINGLE exhaust might be ok, but on a V6 (I assume it is a V6) I think it would be a little to large. A nice mandrel bent 2.5" system would be more than adequate. If you don’t want too or don't have the money to get your whole exhaust system done focus on replacing the OEM catalytic converters with high flow units. I am unsure what is actually available for your car but you could also look into a set of headers as a cheaper performance modification. Nitrous oxide is always an option as well...it just depends on how far you want to go with it. Personal I would start with some headers if available with either modified (high flow cat) exhaust or a replacement exhaust and see how it feels.
