Auto Racing: s-10 drivetrain, foot times, thunder valley

Question
heres what i got. 86 s-10 that ive installed a 350 older model 4 bolt, completely rebuilt by me, for running the thursday nite fights at thunder valley in bristol. so far time with a welded rear-end was low 14 sec. with standard didnt work. no traction. my question: i need someting back there that would work. any ideas? thanks for your time...........geo.

Answer
If your rear end is taking the power, then I would say what you need to look into is better tires/slicks. Are you having problems with wheel hop? Or is it simply a traction issue? What are your 60 foot times?

Check out www.mandhtires.com for what are, in my opinion, the best modification you can do. I went from running a 9.0 1/8th to a 8.4 1/8th mile at our local 1/8th mile track and this was the only thing that changed. My 60 foot times also went from a best of 2.0 to a best of 1.7.
