Auto Racing: turbocharging mitsubishi spyder, mitsubishi eclipse spyder, mitsubishi eclipse

Question
ok so i just got me this mitsubishi eclipse spyder 2.4 liter
and im wanting to upgrade my engine stock engine has around 140hp i was wanting to get about 600hp is that even possible, ive seen some 2.0lt on the dynos performing that much power so i want to think it is possible i just dont know wat it takes to accomplish that.

ok so my questions are

what kind of upgrades do i need to do to b able to put a turbocharger on my engine. i know i need to overhaul it but. do i need to upgrade the fuel/oil/water pump, upgrade conecting rods pistons/ rings, injectors?

i was lookin into a turbocharger that gives 35 psi is that a too much for my little engine?. what do u recommend?

i would like to take this car to the drag but also this is my daily drive car. is there any way to keep it street legal having that kind of power?

Answer
600 HP is kind of a ridiculous goal to have for a car you need to drive every day. I would shoot for something in the 300HP range. You will need to upgrade your fuel system (pump and injectors), internals, ECU (Piggy back system or stand alone) and purchase a good T3 turbo setup for your car. You might be able to find a complete “kit” for your car, but you will pay WAY too much for it. Remember also that just because a turbo is capable of making 35 PSI that does not mean that is what you run. The wastegate setting is what dictates that. If you are serious about building a drag car you need to seriously consider having a car that you can dedicate to your goal, having a daily driver/drag car is more hassle than it is worth. Do a little research into complete kits, and dig around in some online forums for your car. You should be able to find all the information you need that way.
