Auto Racing: My engine problems, roller rockers, engine swaps

Question
I just changed my engine in my 87 mustang. Thenew engine I put in Was in another mustang and was running strong. Now that I put the engine in my car the intake manifold sounds like it backfires. What could it be? I tried many times to get the timing right by putting the 1st piston up to top and setting the distibuter but it does the same thing. I changed parts on the throttle bodey. The engine I put in has; alluminum heads, cam, svo roller rockers, upper & lower Proffessional Products manifold, pullies,Tremic transmission,BBK headers, and its rebuilt 306. Please I need help.

Answer
What you need is a local mechanic.  I'm afraid I can't help you at this distance. Plus I know almost nothing about street rod preparation, engine swaps and the like. I strictly work with track race cars.

I wish I could help, but you will be much better off with some local help

Best wishes
