Auto Racing: 351W STROKER, 418, bogger tires, rear end gears

Question
I have a 1988 F-351W I just bought a 418 stroker kit with pro comp 210flow 202/160 60cc heads with 1.6 RR EST. 11.5 to 1 rated, & I'm going to use a massflow EFI system. I'm looking for recommendation on a stump pulling low to mid range roller cam, it's going into a Jeep YJ with 5.38 gears, a four speed trany, & 44" bogger tires. I do alot of mud & rock crawling. Thanks.

Answer
Robert-

Well...there's a ton of companies out there offering RV/towing and 4X4 cams that would easily meet your requirements.  I don't think you'll need to go too far overboard since you've already got the extra torque of a stroker motor, good throttle response with the higher compression, and ridiculously short rear end gears.  You'll want to look for something that's a bit smaller than your standard street/strip cam with an aggressive ramp to make better use of throttle response and low end torque.  I'd recommend contacting the good people at Comp Cams and use their online tech center.  They can hook you up with a custom cam that will work better than just about any off the shelf cam.  Just give them as many specs on your car/engine as you can and tell them what you want.  Hope this helps.
