Question
My age is 15. I live in Virginia. At the moment i've been wanting to get out on the track and race. But i'm not sure where i should start out at. The main thing is that what league should i go to.

Answer
Well, first of all starting at the age of 15 is a little late because you will be racing against kids that already have 4-7 years of experience. The First thing that I suppose you should do is find a local track in Virginia try it out, if you like it you should join a little league at the go-karting place. If you do well during the league and you know for sure that you want to race as your carrier then you should get involved in the World Karting Association(or WKA). This is the biggest go kart racing league in the States, they race all kinds of different classes on dirt and pavement. There is one problem that you come face to face with if you want to race in the WKA, its expensive allot of families cant afford for there son or daughter to race in this league because you would have to buy a go kart witch is pretty expensive(or you could buy a used kart, but in the long run you will come up with many problems). Also for a new go kart you would have to buy extras like different sorts of tires also spare parts for the kart. Allot of peoples dreams are broken knowing that there is no way that they could afford this expensive sport. You also have other choices such as just practicing at a local race track taking lessons and then going to a professional racing school such as Skip Barber take there lessons in the R/T 2000 race car then competing in the race season(but this can also be very expensive). There is one more thing that you can do and it is to join the REDBULL AMERICAN DRIVER SEARCH PROGRAM this program has not been hosted since 2005 but it is bound to come back and find American talent, this program got SCOTT SPEED into Formula 1 racing. So as you can see you have many options to chose from.
