Auto Racing: piston strength, domed pistons, horsepower numbers

Question
i plan to run 10.5:1 compression on high silicon domed pistons (i dont have money for forged) is this safe? and if not what compression should i run?

Answer
Douglas-

While they certainly wouldn't be my first choice for compression that high, I think they'll work provided you're not running big horsepower numbers, you run good gas (preferably premium...whatever that is in your area), and keep the timing in check.  Compression doesn't really effect the pistons unless you have bad gas or bad timing, in which case they can lead to detonation which can really damage a piston.  Would I prefer you used forged pieces?  Yes.  However, I think under the circumstances the ones you've got will work.  Hope this helps.
