Auto Racing: water temp, metallic substrate, bassanni

Question
Can water, oil, tranny temperature be too cold, would it be a problem if I didn't use a thermostat but just always left the fans on, would this hurt the engine, also if you could tell me who males the highest flow cataylic conveter, thanks for your help

Answer
Tyler-

I suppose the answer is yes if the car is street driven.  I wouldn't go without a thermostat...I also wouldn't recommend anything lower than 180 degrees as far as thermostats go if the car is street driven.  Maybe 160 for a track car.  If the engine runs too cool it will start to run a little rich and start leaving more carbon in the cylinders than usual.  Oil is really ok at just about any given temperature as long as it's not too hot.  A transmission can be too cold...it's always a good idea to warm it up a bit before really jumping on the throttle.  As for converters, I'd say the best on the market is Bassanni's new metallic substrate converter.  Their normal ceramic ones are pretty good, too.  Just be prepared to pay (and man do you pay) for the extra quality and performance.  Hope this helps.
