QuestionI have a 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse 1.8L, I would like more horsepower but I can't find any parts for my car, except a computer chip, and a K&N filter, I can't find a header, or many other high performance parts. I had a bad experience with Nitro, so I'm scared to put it on. What are some parts that I could install on my car to give it more horsepower? Thank You!
AnswerHI Frank :
I'm certain there's somebody out there that makes headers for the Mits. Stop by your local newsstand and get a copy of Sport Compact Magazine. There should be advertisers in there that can help you..
You're on the right track with the K&N filter, and the chip. The header and a flowmaster muffler will help too. Run a 2 1/2" exhaust and tailpipe. Also get a free flowing CAT.
Beyond that you need to think in terms of money, and how much of the work you can do yourself. I would start by 'milling' the head a bit, clean up the valves while you're at it, and consider a mild performance camshaft.
The other option with a car like that is a turbo kit, and it's something I know very little about
Good luck,
