Auto Racing: blower, check the weather, light rain

Question
Ok this is a general question. If i want to put a small supercharger on my fresh 350, perhaps the holley 144, And put a blower type air filter on top of the carb, which would stick through the hood, will that be ok to drive in the rain? I still want this to be a daily driver and it just came to mind that i never hear anything about rain on a blower. Thanks.

Answer
Good question. A very very light rain wouldn't be a problem, but anything more than that could be. Water injection has been used in the past to control detonation by cooling the cylinders. This works because the amount of water is controlled by a properly sized orifice. Uncontrolled amounts can be a real problem, ranging from loss of power to serious engine damage. Your best bet, check the weather forecast before venturing out.
