NASCAR Racing: Nascar team ownership, bonus programs, car owner

Question
I am in the middle of an argument with an Anti Nascar individual.
He made the statement that Nascar had a limit of a person only owning 2 teams because Hendrick shows Gordon as the owner of the 48.
I say that they show other ownership because a team owner is only allowed to have 2 of his teams eligible for Nascar Bonus programs. Who is correct and where can I find a link to provide proof of the answer.

Thanks

Jim

Answer
The limit for team owners is 4, not 2. So, no Jeff doesn't own the 48 to stay under the limit for Rick, HMS has 4 cars in thier stable and they are fine. He co-owns with Rick, so it stays a Hendrick car. The reasoning for why Jeff owns the 48 is simple: He wants to be involved in the bigger picture.
As for the bonus programs, a team owner is different from a car owner. Ricks team (48, 5, 24, 88) are all under one umbrella, regardless of the car owner or co-owner.
I don't have a link for this, I just know that, but I assume you can use google to show that a team is limited at 4 not 2.
