NASCAR Racing: DRIVERS, coca cola 600, motor speedway

Question
IN THE LONGER RACES OR ANY RACE FOR THAT MATTER DO THE DRIVERS WEAR SOME SORT OF CATHETER? I KNOW THEY DRINK A LOT OF FLUIDS AND WITH ALL THAT G FORCE AGAINST THERE BODIES I WAS CURIOUS.

Answer
Hi again Randy,

The longest race is usually no more than 5 hrs, the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway.  They actually prepared for it by drinking a lot of fluids because when they try to manhandle the car around the track, plus it is usually about 120 degrees in the cockpit, they sweat it all off.  Most of the drivers end up dehydrated at the end of the race.

I thought it was funny, Dale Jr. said in his autobiography, "If it doesn't go away, we just pee ourselves, no one can tell sweat from pee."

So they usually go to the bathroom before the race, then rehydrate themselves with fluids before they take the green.

Oh, i forgot, during the pit stops, the drivers usually get another water bottle for every stop.  So they are adequately hydrated the whole time.

Hope i helped!
