NASCAR Racing: tire companies, goodyear tires, hooiser tires

why is Goodyear the only tire company in nascar wouldnt it
make it a little more competitive if you had a tire compitition like auto manufactors

I believe the only reason Goodyear is the only tire manufacture in NASCAR is because they make special tires for each and every race now. Years back teams had the choice between Hooiser Tires and Goodyear Tires, but the last year that was allowed was in 1994. I think the only reason is because it would be hard for two different companies to make an identical tire for each race. Teams may be upset that the only reason they were beat was because another team was running a different type of tire. By having all the tires as Goodyears, everyone is given the same exact tire therefore making the playing field even.
