Richard Petty who won 27 races in 1967, including an all time record of 10 straight races. He ran in 48 races that year.

But I'm guessing you're a "newer" fan and maybe more interested in what they call the "modern era" when they decreased the number of races per year to the 30's (in 1972). If so, we still have Petty having won 13 races in 1975 and then tied by Jeff Gordon in 1998.

So who wins the bet?
