NASCAR Racing: Pit Crew, nascar pit crew, nascar fan

I have a growing NASCAR fan base in my home, and my future son in law is currently a mechanic, and has no idea where to go to get on the ladder to be on a NASCAR pit crew, and yes, he knows it's a big ladder.  Do you have any ideas?  We are in Denver, CO, not a huge NASCAR area.

Is there an easy way? No. I would say to try for a job on a local "Saturday night" race team to get some experience. But it will be pretty difficult to find a job with a Cup team without moving to an an area where a team is located and knocking on doors. I wish I could give a more exact answer but with the popularity of NASCAR nowadays, EVERYBODY wants a job on a race team. Just like with the drivers, he's going to have start little and work his way up, local team, Busch team, Cup team...
