NASCAR Racing: richard petty, blue torino, ford torino

thank you, kind sir, for fielding this question.  did richard petty ever campaign on nascar in a ford torino.  i told a youngster he did, i'm certain i saw a photo of a blue torino with the stp logo.  thanks once again.  doug clark

Well, you're half right. He drove a Ford Torino in 1969 but went right back to Plymouth (a Superbird) in 1970. He didn't pick up STP as a sponsor until I believe 1973. The '69 Torino had 7-Up for a sponsor. If you want a pic get back to me at stooge@fullnet.net
