BMW Repair: Advice on 2001 BMW 325ci, leak master, bmw 325ci

Question
Hello - I am the original owner of a 2001 325ci.  Unfortunately, this car has been like the rest of the rabbit after you cut off the lucky foot.  The car currently has 120,000 miles on it and a LOT of problems.  To start, there is an oil leak coming from somewhere underneath the intake and has not been successfully located by my mechanic.  It needs the front control arms replaced.  And, the most significant problem is that the power steering pump died.  And various other problems include: back convertable hooks wont unlatch, drivers side lock broke, interior window buttons broke, drivers window will ascend when pressed to descend, sealing problem in the trunk causing leak, master cylinder broke, windshield wiper fluid pump went, etc. From your experience, does a car of this year and model generally have this many problems?  And if so, what else can i expect to go wrong?

Answer
Not at all unreasonable for a 7 year old car with 120K miles.

I have found with BMW's you trade maintence for driving experience.  If you want a reliabl appliance, buy a Toyota.  If you want to enjoy the 3000+ hours you have spent in the car (120,000 miles/40 mph), buy a BMW.

You need to stay on top of the little things.
