BMW Repair: 1985 bmw 535i, fuse box, bmw 535i

Question
I have 2 questions
my speedometer and odometer work when they want.
i dont know if my car was supposed to come with a break light in the rear window but theres not one there and the break lights on my taillights dont work either ?
any advice?

If there isn't one visible chances are there isn't one,they started in 1986 putting them in all cars.Your light problem could go from a bad fuse to bad lenses.Start at the fuse box make sure the fuse is good.Look at rear taillight sockets to see if there is ant rust on them.If there is lenses maybe needed or new sockets for the bulbs.
As for the speedo it maybe a loose connection in the instrument panel.To get information on that you should pick up a manual from Bentley as they cover all of the car as well.
