BMW Repair: 91 E30 325 broke fan belt, timing belt tensioner, v belts

Question
My daughter broke down the other day and had the car towed home. She said the car stated making a bad noise and began to overheat.  The alternator belt was broken and hanging down so I figured, belt broke, water pump stopped pumping and the heat came up.  I have a new belt but as I started to get ready to replace it, it seems the water pump may be locked up...  I haven't started pulling the front apart yet, but just reaching down, I can't spin the water pump pulley by hand.  Maybe the pump locked up and that broke the belt?!?  My question, is catastrophic lock-up while running unusual?  I am prepared to replace the water pump & belts (probably do the timing belt while down there). I confirmed that the engine still cranks & runs fine.  What parts should I have on hand before starting besides - new V belts, waterpump & gasket, and timing belt?  I will be alert for bad hoses as well.  Should I replace the timing belt tensioner?  Is there a timing cover gasket? I do have a Bentley manual for the car.
Thanks,
Matt

Answer
You will need a timing belt, timeing belt tensioner, water pump, gaskets, belts, cam seal if you want todo it allso, make sure you time the vehicle correctly, but the bentley manual is an excelent manual.  Hope this Helps Thnaks Nathan Babbitt (Babbitt Motor Werks)
