BMW Repair: Mirror Cover Removal, plastic retainers, plastic molding

Hello, I have an '97 740i (E38) I have purchased chrome mirror covers with blinkers inside of them. I am wondering how do I remove the original mirror covers that are currently on the car. Once removed, I will more than likely need the wiring diagram to link the blinkers to the mirror blinkers. However, the immediate question is how do I remove the factory mirror covers?

Answer
Tilt the mirror housing out.  Grasp the outer edge of the mirror and pull firmly to diengage it.

Remove four plastic molding mounting screws.  Remove molding.

Compress the plastic retainers that hold on the mirror housing.

You are on your own for the wiring.
