BMW Repair: BMW E39 Starter Motor lazy 1997 Automatic, bmw e39, starter motor

Question
My 1997 E39 would not start but the starter was turning no problem. It was like it was flooded with fuel. I turned the engine quite a few times to be honest but it didn't start. I think I may have turned it a few times as not the starter is turning very slow and even with a full charge the starter is still turn slow. Have I burnt out the starter. If so is there an easy way to replace the starter bearing in mind my e39 is an automatic.

Answer
If the starter is bad you have to remove the starter to fix it or replace it. I don't know you're skill level but its about a 3 hour job. the top bolt on the starter is very hard to get to and requires special tools.  I hope this helps.  thanks nathan       Im sorry but i dont fully understand the question
