BMW Repair: 318i E46: DSC, ABS, Handbrake Lights on., wheel speeds, wright tools

Question
Hi Again,

Just another fault I am currently getting.

This one has my dsc, abs and handbrake lights turned on.
My speedo and fuel consumption/economy gauges off.

From what I have been reading it is either the rear speed sensor (Which I'd prefer, cause its a cheaper fix) or the DSC/ABS Controller.

Just hoping for your input to what all the possible causes are.

Also where is my DSC/ABS Controller? how do I test to see if that is the problem?

Answer
Yes the most common cause is the abs/dsc module. You need a scanner that can tell you current status of the wheel speeds so you can see if one of the sensors is bad. the module in question is attached to the abs pump close to the firewall in the engine bay. without special tools it will be hard for you to determine if its the abs module or the wheel speed sensor. I can be more specific but without the wright tools it will be difficult for you to diagnose the problem correctly.  hope this helps.   thanks Nathan
