BMW Repair: 96 318i reset emissions sensors, bmw 318i, jiles

Question
Long story short...bought a used 96 BMW 318i which I love. Previous owner had just replaced battery so all sensors cleared and would not pass NY inspections. Shop said to drive it for a while and bring back. Did so, but still only a few had re-started (not enough to pass. Battery died due to light staying on in glove box...cleared sensors agin. Drove 700+ jiles and took it in to find that none of the sensors have reset. Any trick to getting these all started so I can pass inspection. Still driving on 10-day temp and expect a ticket anyday now. Thanks!!!

Answer
try driving for @10 minutes @ 30mph then 10min @50 mph then doing it again after the car has 100% cooled down. hold the speed steady and do not accel hard when getting to those speeds. it sounds hard to do and it is. the rpm also needs to held @ 2700 when doing the drive. If that does not do it you may have a problem but it should work.
