BMW Repair: 1997 Bmw 540i Automatic, 1997 bmw 540i, coolant leaks

Evan, I just bought a 1997 540, the car seems to run very hot under the hood, the cooling fan comes on allot, but the gauge never goes beyond mid point, but it seems to get there pretty quick maybe 5 minutes, should i be concerned? do these cars just run hot?

Chris, V8's produce significant heat. If the temp never goes over half way up the gauge and you don't have any coolant leaks and the Level and concentration of coolant is correct then I would let sleeping dogs lie. Cooling fans work aswell. Perfect.
