BMW Repair: parked car ventilation, fog machine, microfilter

Question
I recently purchased an 05 530i sport package with 48k miles.  It has the parked car ventilation option.  I set the timer and tried this option one time, every since then my car has had an odor like coffee or something burning in it everytime I get in it. Is there a filter or something I can change to get rid of that smell?

Answer
Mark this sounds odd. I've never heard this complaint before. The microfilters (cabin filters) are in the engine compartment. Black plastic housing with a metal bale clamp and 13mm quarter turn fastener on each corner. Passenger side has the hood switch mounted on it. Disconnect it before removing the housing. If you still have BMW warranty you could complain about a smell (musty odor from A/C). The should replace the microfilter and reset the interval indicator and use an antimicrobial fog machine (Wynns Airco Cleaner) to clean the system. I would definately have a Technician verify the smell even if you need to test drive the car or leave the car at the dealer.
