BMW Repair: bmw e36 aircon electric fan, e36 325i, bmw e36

hi recently had air con in car filled.ive never had air con working in 3 years ive had car.every thing worked ok .however 2nd fan in front of condenser rad. stopped working .fuse had blown .changed fuse .restarted fan . however keeps blown fuse 30amp.could it be that not been used for long time  the fan keeps jamming?.what would happen if this fan was not working with aircon running? thanks for your help . 1994 e36 325i

I had the same problem with my 94 e34 and it was the fan motor.  You can find just the motor.  Can't remember the price off the top of my head but it was much less expensive than the entire fan.  Don't run the air con very long without the cooling fan.  I did that in my daughter's 90 525 model without knowing it was out I ended up having to get an new compressor as it froze up.  Fix the blower fan first, it is cheaper and easier.  If I remember right you have to take the radiator out to get to it though.
