BMW Repair: Changed Battery in BMW X5, angle sensor, bmw x5

Help! my hubby has changed the battery and now abs warning light is on, he is spending hours out there with it so thought id see if anyone can please help?

Nicole, drive the car. The lights usually extinguish once the car is rolling and you turn the steering wheel from lock to lock. The Steering angle sensor has lost it's bearing when the battery is pulled. To avoid this you can change the battery in a BMW while attaching an external 12volt battery (jumper pack, another car battery, etc.) to the under hood jumper posts to keep voltage to the car's electronic modules alive. BE CAREFUL!!! the positive battery terminal even after you take it off the dead battery is still live and WILL arc out on any grounded metal item. I recommend using masking tape over the positive terminal while you are fumbling around changing the battery.
