BMW Repair: SECONDARY AIRPUMP, airpump, yellow oil

Question
Hello Mr. Slater
I have a 99 e46 316, and the secondary airpump sometimes won't stop.
It just keeps going until the battery is drained.
Does not matter if the engine is cold or hot.
I just have to pull the fuse.
I can reinstall the fuse maybe next day, and the pump function as it should.
Also have the yellow oil warning lamp on for a few seconds every time I start, so I have to replace the oil level switch.
But can this be related to the airpump?
Thanks in advance

Answer
Paul, the oil level sensor issue is not related to the secondary air pump. Paul make sure the relay is not sticking (that is what this sounds like). I believe that the part number is PN 12 63 1 742 690. I don't have access to the wiring diagram where I am at so I can't tell you where the relay is. Usually in the E-box or behind the glove box. Double check that part number with your BMW parts counter as it may have been updated.
