BMW Repair: Heater outputing maximum temperature, coolant hoses, center vents

Question
I have a 1999 3 series BMW. I have recently replaced the FSR, as this has proven to be a common problem with the blower not working. Great it now works, and only cost me £60. I now have signs of another problem... I seem to get the maximum hot air temperature irrelevant of the temp setting i use.

Answer
Mark, make sure the the thumbwheel between the center vents is set to cold or desired temperature. The Coolant hoses that enter the firewall are feed from the engine to the electric heater valve (sometimes called water valve). Make sure the hoses are warm to the touch and not hot (like full of hot coolant). Tap on the heater valve with a metal object. Sometimes they get stuck. If the temp begins to drop on those hoses and the interior temp is correcting then replace the Valve.
