BMW Repair: s54 into an E30, google search, dash lights

just curious if it is possible to do this swap and what you need to have the swap functional. I don't know if you have to use the EWS module thats matched to the DME or what. If you could enlighten me on this subject it would be nice. THanks for readin  Joel

 The S54 is a great engine.  It won engine of the year for 3 consecutive years!  However they are a rare and expensive engine, so most people who do swaps put them into something a little more special than an E30 (at least they think).  So there haven't been a whole lot of S54 swaps that I know of.  The S50/S52 was a far more popular engine to drop into these cars.

 I do not know much about the electronics on the S54, so I wont be of much help to you with the fine details.  You will have to bring all the wiring and DME with the engine, Fab up the engine mounts and tranny mount,Have a driveshaft made/cut to a custom length and that's just the tip of the iceberg.  
 Unfortunately this isn't a "plug and play" installation, so alot of custom work and sorting will have to be done.  TO make the dash lights work will be a pain as well, but it can be done.

 Make sure you have plenty of time, dont try this swap in a hurry.
