BMW Repair: final stage resistor, gauge wires, torx screws

Where is the final stage resistor located on a 2000 323i?  I've already removed the glove box, but I can't seem to find anything that looks like the replacement part.  Thanks.

Jeff, please see my post to 'Doug' on 8/24/06 on E46 final stage replacement. If the glove box is out of the way then remove the black plastic vent. Remove the stepper motor and detatch the silver metal rod from it. The Final stage is toward the driverside of where you removed the stepper motor. It has a five or six wire connector with heavy gauge wires in it. Remove the plastic bracket with the T-20 torx screws. There are also some pictures on some E46 forums around the internet.
