BMW Repair: e46 antenna amplifier, antenna amplifier, force of habit

Question
I suspect a faulty AM antenna amplifier and I'd like to know how to remove the left C-pillar, to get access to the amp. (2001 330i). Thanks!

Answer
Hello Allan,
I usually use a flat plastic tool to pry the side of the trim of the C pillar nearest the door edge. But of course you can use a trim remover if you have one (it is like a
mini pry bar).
Then you can peep inside. Normally, the trim is held by plastic clamps/clips like the ones in a door trim(you can see it when you pry it off).
Thru force of habit, I always pry off the lamp on the same trim gently before I pry off the trim.
You do not have to fully remove the trim not unless you really have to replace the antenna amplifier. 9 out of 10,
the cable connectors are just loose and all you have to do is tighten them with a short long nose plier.
I hope this clarifies it for you. If you need more info
just holler.
